Founded in 1992, Jewish Theatre Grand Rapids is dedicated to presenting quality theatrical productions with Jewish themes that are universal in appeal. In doing so, we hope to enrich the Jewish experience in West Michigan, and inform, educate, and engage both the Jewish and non-Jewish community.

Past productions have included comedies such as "Lost in Yonkers," and "I'm Not Rapaport," riveting dramas such as "The Chosen," and "Denial," and musicals, including "Esther, the Musical," an original musical written by local songwriter and playwright Lori Jacobs.

2008 Season

In 2008, JTGR celebrates their 15th Season with three productions dealing with the theme of "Idealism vs. Reality." The season opens with William Gibson's "Golda's Balcony" starring Lori Jacobs as Golda from January 9-20, 2008. The second show will be "Steamship Quanza," by Susan Lieberman and Stephen J. Morewitz running April 10-17, 2008, and the season will close with "Shmulnik's Waltz," by Allan Knee, from June 12-22.
