Nicole Raphael strives to produce the “simchas” and struggles of the Jewish experience on stage.  She also uses the arts as a tool for children to embrace Jewish Learning. Under the auspices of The Mesaper Theatre, she has led Jewish themed theatre workshops, classes and readings at Manhattan Day School, Ramaz Lower School and The Heschel School in NYC.

She currently tours With Dream Awakened Eyes written by Ellen W. Kaplan, a solo performance piece based on Charlotte Salomon’s autobiographical collection of over 1000 small paintings entitled Life? Or Theatre? This one-hour solo performance piece includes recorded music and a media design which incorporates slides of Salomon’s paintings into the fabric of the play. Nicole Raphael performs over half a dozen roles, taking the audience through an exciting and powerful story of Salomon’s life, chronicling the suicides of all her maternal family members, through her life as a young impassioned artist in Berlin, and leading up to her imprisonment and death in Auschwitz.
