Chana Porter is a playwright and puppeteer living in Queens, New York. She received a Master’s degree with Merit from the University of Exeter, UK, in Playwriting. Her play Ruby Red debuted at Dixon Place (NYC) in 2008. Touch Me was a finalist in the ISP Competition (UK) 2008. Try to Praise the Mutilated World, based on the life of the poet Gertrude Halstead, was a finalist for ISP Competition of 2009. Lilit, a collaborative performance piece, was performed at Theatre Lab in New York City this May. Her new short play, Comfort Food, debuts at Ugly Sister Productions in London, June 2009. Currently, Chana is working on a new musical, entitled Angel Pony in the Underworld, to be completed in 2010.
