Paul Lewis

Composer/lyricist/librettist

Paul is an award-winning BMI-affiliated composer whose primary focus is musical theatre. Work which has been brought to the stage includes: THE RECOLLECTION OF FLIGHT (Book, music and lyrics); and the collaborations HAIL AND REIGN, A MUSICAL; THE WORLD BELOW, a children's opera; and LAST POEM ON EARTH: A JAZZ REQUIEM, an evening-length choral and orchestra piece. His lyrics to a ballad by jazz legend Bill Evans have been recorded by vocalists around the world. He has been awarded grants for his projects from Artist Trust, the American Music Center, and the Bainbridge Island Arts and Humanities Council. He is currently at work on a new opera and a musical.
