Paul Lewis

Composer/lyricist/librettist

Paul is a BMI-affiliated composer and playwright whose primary focus is musical theatre. Work which has been brought to the stage includes the musicals THE HOURS OF LIFE (finalist, Fulton Theatre New Play Discovery Project), ALLEY DOG (published by YouthPlays), HAIL AND REIGN, and THE RECOLLECTION OF FLIGHT; THE WORLD BELOW, a children's opera; and LAST POEM ON EARTH: A JAZZ REQUIEM, an evening-length choral and orchestra piece. His lyric to a ballad by jazz legend Bill Evans has been recorded by vocalists around the world. He has been awarded grants for his projects from Artist Trust, the American Music Center, and the Bainbridge Island Arts and Humanities Council. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America and Theatre Puget Sound.
