Mission Statement
The Jewish Theatre of Bloomington is deeply committed to both Judaism
and the theatre. It is our intent to produce works that arise from or
reflect the Jewish experience but that also focus on universal issues of
the human condition and that are accessible to a diverse audience.
The genre of Jewish theatre is a vibrant performing arts experience with
a rich and long standing international history! The JTB proudly takes
its place as the only one of its kind located in Indiana.

My Name is Asher Lev by Aaron Posner, adapted from the book by Chaim Potok.
JTB will produce a reprise of the Phoenix Theatre's production of "My Name is Asher Lev "with the original cast and director. Three performances, June 11, 7:30 P.M., June 12, 2 P.M. , June 16, 7:30 P.M., at the Bloomington Playwrights Project. (The Phoenix Theatre is a professional theatre in Indianapolis, Indiana)
Choreographed staged reading of world premier of "Hiding in the Spotlight" adapted by Candy Dawson from the book by Greg Dawson.
The play is about Zhanna Dawson, pianist and retired faculty member at Indiana University's Jacobs School of, and her amazing survival of the Holocaust that she kept hidden for many years. November, 2011
