Norman Beim
Playwright, Novelist, Actor
As an actor I've appeared on Broadway, Off Broadway, Off Off Broadway, TV and films. I've appeared with people like Paul Muni, Tony Randall, Morgan Freeman, Will Geer et al. I was standby for Van Johnson in the national tour of "Tribute."I've also done quite a bit of directing.
My plays have won a number of awards and been produced nationally and internationally. My play "SUCCESS," for example, ran for over a year in the Netherlands with major Dutch stars and was also produced in Belgium. My modern comedy, PYGMALION & GALATEA ran for over 8 months in the Netherlands with major Dutch stars.

These four collections of my plays are also published:
SIX AWARD WINNING PLAYS
PLAYS AT HOME AND ABROAD
MY FAMILY THE JEWISH IMMIGRANTS
GIANTS OF THE OLD TESTAMENT

The performance rights to the published plays are handled by Samuel French.

Norman's anthology, MY FAMILY THE JEWISH IMMIGRANTS, is currently a text book for an English course at St. Olaf College in Minnesota, and is available in most bookstores, Samuel French and Amazon.

My debut novel, HYMIE AND THE ANGEL, published recently, received excellent reviews, and is now being adapted into a screenplay.

I've been doing readings from my work at various book fairs and book stores like Barnes & Noble and Boarders and I am available for readings.

I'm currently preparing the next volume of plays for publication and working on two novels and a memoir.

I might mention that my musical, FRITZ & FROYIM, (I write book and lyrics) a dark comedydrama about an ex SS officer hounded by the ghost of a Jewish comedian has had two staged readings. Cast of 6. It's powerful, funny and provocative and looking for friendly home.
