The Arizona Jewish Theatre Company is dedicated to producing enlightening and dynamic professional theatre that reflects and illuminates Jewish culture, history and perspective. We celebrate the resiliency of the human spirit and the diverse nature of Jewish culture through art, education and entertainment. Through the lifeaffirming and heightened eye of theatrical expression, AJTC adds an important ethnic component to the colorful Arizona landscape.

The Arizona Jewish Theatre Company was founded in 1988. It operates under a Small Professional Theatre Contract with Actors Equity. In addition to 4 mainstage shows each year, the Co. also produces 2 children's plays and offers afterschool classes, winter workshops and summer theatre camps for children. The Company is an independent professional company and receives funding from the Phoenix Arts Commission, the Arizona Commission on the Arts, corporations, foundations and private donors.

About Play Submissions

To playwrights: AJTC accepts plays by email only, in either PDF or Word formats.
All shows must have Jewish themes or characters.
We're always looking for non-stereotypical comedies - preferably no more than 6 actors.
We are not in an economic position to do large musicals these days.
We are an Equity company.
Our current theatre is a modified thrust (photos on our website) - it's hard to "hide" things! But the stage has a built-in turn table, which is pretty cool!
We are reluctant to do shows that have no prior performance history, though we sometimes will.
We do not own our own theatre - we have to rent - so it makes it very difficult for us to do any "presenting."
There's just 'Me" doing the reading, so be patient and don't bug me a lot please! I'm trying - honest!
